Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Tshivenda Daily collects when you use the app, and how it is used.

What we collect

  • Your name, email address and password when you create an account. Passwords are stored securely and are never visible to us.
  • Your learning progress: which chapters you have passed and your best quiz scores.
  • Homework answers you submit, and any feedback a teacher gives.
  • Questions you send to a teacher through “Ask a teacher”, and the answers.

Buying the book

  • When you buy the PDF we keep your name, email address and the order, so you can download it again.
  • Payments are handled by Yoco. Your card or bank details go straight to Yoco — we never see or store them.

What stays on your phone

  • Your text size choice and daily reminder time are saved only on your device.
  • Daily reminders are scheduled on your phone. We do not send them from a server and do not track whether you open them.

How we use your information

  • To let you log in and keep your progress across devices.
  • So teachers can read and reply to your homework and questions.
  • We do not sell your information.
  • The phone app and the learner web app do not show advertising.

Where your information is stored

  • Account and learning data is stored with Supabase, our database provider. Access is restricted so each learner can only see their own data; teachers can see homework and questions in order to answer them.

Your choices

  • You can turn reminders off at any time in the app’s Profile tab or in your phone settings.
  • You can delete your account and all of your data yourself: in the app go to Profile → Delete my account, or see /delete-account on this website.
